Dinagat Island

WELCOME TO THE DINAGAT ISLANDS ^_____^ (The mystical Province) We caught the first trip at 4am (Thank God!). The ferries for Surigao City to Dinagat Island only have 3 trip schedules. First trips 4am-6am(there are a number of ferries that could take you to Dinagat), second trips (I'm not really sure about the hours), and the last trips 12noon-1pm. Beyond that, you won't have any choice but find a place to stay for a night in the island. :)))) **Photo Above: we were boarding the port of Basilisa**

The PBMA Shrine ^___^ And we had a great roam around. Visitors are not allowed to enter the shrine but you can still see what's inside it through the open windows on the sides :))

The so-called mystical province played an important role in the country's history, particularly during World War II.  Adding to the historical significance of the province is the foundation of the Philippine Benevolent Missionary Association by Ruben Ecleo, Sr. (PBMA shrine above)

You really should see this view in person!

Ecleo's Mansion. Too bad we were not allowed to get close to the mansion (VIP's were having their meeting inside that time).

Lovely!

Boat rentals to cross one island to the next is pretty expensive especially if you're planning to cross from Basilisa to San Jose. We just rented 2 motorcycles for 1,000 pesos (round trip) but we don't really need to go back to Basilisa once we're in San Jose because they also have their own dock for ferries heading Surigao City.

The view from the ferry. Astonishing!
